Discover our rural roots at the Osgoode Township Museum

There’s lots to see at the Osgoode Township Museum!

Our cozy museum is housed in a former two-room school in Vernon, Ontario. But make no mistake, we pack lots of fascinating artefacts into a small space. It even spills out into a heritage garden and agricultural barn!

Permanent exhibition

Our permanent exhibition tells the story of our community’s agricultural heritage. Inside, you’ll learn how Indigenous people and European settlers laid the foundation for our present-day community.

Are you a hockey fan? Come and see the jersey local hero Larry Robinson wore while playing the NHL’s All-Star game in 1979!

Explore our permanent exhibition from anywhere in the world with our virtual tour.

Agricultural barn

Visiting in spring, summer or fall? Be sure to stop at the barn where you’ll find countless fascinating artefacts. You’ll see everything from clothing and tradespersons’ tools to full-sized tractors and other farming equipment all stored under one massive roof.

Heritage garden

Inspired by a 1907 school garden, our 10,000 square foot heritage garden showcases the role gardens played in rural education. The volunteer-run garden is one of 115 community gardens in Ottawa, and visitors are welcome to take what they need.
